For release : February 14, 2005. Sehgal Foundation Promotes Youth Entrepreneurship in Rural Haryana. Entrepreneurship Training Course at Damdama from February 14-18, 2005. Gurgaon, India - February 14, 2005. The Sehgal Foundation addresses sustainable livelihoods by promoting "self employment" to the youth of rural Haryana through I Create Inc., an associate of National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), U.SA. A five day workshop on "Entrepreneurship Training" to develop rural youth as job creators in selected villages of Haryana is proceeding from February 14-18, 2005 at Saras Tourist Complex, Damdama, Sohna Block, Haryana. The Foundation's trustee, Mr. Y C Nanda, Member of National Commission on Farmers, former Chairman of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) inaugurated the event and gave a speech of encouragement. In rural areas the concept of 'employment' is limited to government jobs, often youth are engaged in agriculture which is seasonal, and for the rest of the time they remain idle. They need guidance and moral support to set free their inhibitions and initiate self employment. To address the situation, the Sehgal Foundation through its 'income enhancement' program partners with organizations specialized in advocating entrepreneurship to make their services easily accessible to the villages. Currently, the Foundation has funded I Create to implement the project in selected villages of Haryana. I Create will organize Entrepreneurship Workshops, Entrepreneurship Awareness Seminars, and Business Camps at different times of the year. "It is by enabling opportunities for youth to begin an enterprise and create employment for fellow members, the Foundation is targeting sustainable growth in the income of the villagers", said Mr. Jay Sehgal, Executive Director of the Foundation. This workshop will focus on various topics: Power of Networking, Basics of Marketing, Converting your hobby into a business, Customer and Competition, Quality and Packaging, Communicating for Success, Identifying market needs and trends, Discipline of accounting, Understanding elements of costs, Pricing and Promotions and Preparing action plan. The principal trainers of the workshop Mr. Harsh Bhargava, Dr Aruna Bhargava from I Create and Mr. Erik Dauwen from NFTE have vast experience in promoting "Entrepreneurship" around the world.
